Joy Rides

Make friends and enjoy the city at a relaxed pace!

Our Joy Rides are casual group rides around Athens that provide a fun and safe atmosphere for all skill levels.

When and Where

We ride on the last Friday of the month, starting at 6:00 pm. Rides start and end at our shop at 1190 Prince Ave Suite B (under Daily Grocery).

What to Expect

Joy Rides are casual, slow, 6 to 8 mile in-town rides that last about 90 minutes. We ride on the streets as well as on separated multi-use paths.

We abide by all applicable traffic laws and re-group at safe stops as needed during the ride. We leave nobody behind. All rides include a ride leader who regulates pace and a sweeper to handle mechanical problems if they arise.

We usually finish with an optional social gathering at Athentic Brewing next door.

What to Bring

We recommend that you bring water, a helmet, and bike lights. It is also nice to have a spare innertube that fits your bike. Wear whatever clothing you’r comfortable in.

Routes

We plan our routes to take you to different parts of town every month. Athens is hilly, so hills are unavoidable, but we do our best to spread them out. We strive to plan routes that minimize risks and allow for groups of 20 to 30 riders to stay together or regroup as needed. Get in touch if you would like to know the route ahead of the ride.
