Acceptance Recovery Center

We provide education, shelter, and support in a structured, transitional, therapeutic community for the displaced and addicted populations while empowering them to become productive members of society.

Advantage Behavioral Health

It is the mission of Advantage Behavioral Health Systems to provide person-centered community-based services and treatment to individuals and families experiencing mental illness, developmental disabilities, and addictions, by collaboratively using personal, community and organizational resources.

ARK – United Ministries Outreach Center

The mission of The Ark is the same today as it was when it first opened its doors back in 1989: to continue to fulfill the vision of its founders by being an efficient, effective way for the religious community to pool resources and help people find self-sufficiency with hope and self-respect in the face of economic hardship. The Ark acts as an advocate for “neighbors” (the term used for The Ark’s clients) and offers help using its own funds, as well as monies, services and resources from other social service agencies and private charities in the community.

Athens Area Homeless Shelter (JobTREC)

Athens Area Homeless Shelter provides collaborative, comprehensive services to homeless individuals and families working toward sustainable independence.

Athens Community Council on Aging

ACCA’s mission is to promote a lifetime of wellness through engagement, advocacy, education and support.

Children First engages families in our community and the courts to promote safe, stable and nurturing living environments for children.

Family Counseling Services, Inc.

Family Counseling Services of Athens has been providing affordable counseling services for Northeast Georgia since 1969. Our core services include individual, marriage, and family counseling. In addition, we offer a number of special programs addressing such concerns as youth alcohol and drug abuse, children’s adjustment to divorce, anger management. Agency staff include social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and certified addiction counselors.

Georgia Department of Labor – Rehabilitation Services

We operate five programs with one goal: To help people with disabilities to become fully productive members of society by achieving independence and meaningful employment

Interfaith Hospitality Network

The Mission of Family Promise of Athens is to mobilize our community to help homeless families in crisis situations achieve sustainable independence. It is our goal to give homeless families the opportunity to stay together as a family and the time and resources to get back on their feet.

Live Forward

The mission of Live Forward is to build healthier communities through stable housing, improved health management, strong community outreach and widespread prevention services, ensuring those we help live with dignity and a positive quality of life.

The Palm House Recovery Centers

The Palm House is a peer based “Social Model” recovery program, which emphasizes the process of relearning responses to challenges, stresses and anxieties through “doing” and “experiencing” things in a new way and by watching positive role models. Our staff monitors operations and residents and enforces structure through our house rules.

Project Safe

Project Safe works to end domestic violence through crisis intervention, ongoing supportive services, systems change advocacy, and prevention and education in the community.

Complete Streets Athens is a community advocacy organization working to ensure safe, equitable, and accessible transportation choices.

Georgia Bikes

Since our founding in 2006, Georgia Bikes has worked to improve conditions for cycling across the state by hosting the annual Georgia Bike Summits, advocating for legislation that protects people who ride bikes, offering support for local advocacy efforts, and providing education programs.

Atlanta Bicycle Coalition

The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition was founded in 1991 to engage bicyclists in efforts to improve biking conditions in the city of Atlanta. Known then as the Atlanta Bicycle Campaign, the organization’s early actions focused on providing education and resources for cyclists, and rallying City government and MARTA officials to support accommodations for people traveling by bike.

Bike Walk Savannah

The mission of Bike Walk Savannah is to promote people-powered mobility and work toward an equitable environment for walking and biking in Savannah. We seek to redefine our city as a place for people, no matter their mode of transportation.

Bike Walk Macon

Founded in July 2015, we are Macon-Bibb County’s first grassroots bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organization working to enhance mobility to create a more vibrant, healthy, and equitable city. Through community leadership and inclusive engagement, Bike Walk Macon has become the city’s voice for all things biking and walking. We seek to make active transportation an option for all Maconites, no matter where they live or where they’re trying to go. We work to make our transportation network support active living and additional commuting options.

Safe Routes to School Georgia

Safe Routes to School programs are sustained efforts by parents, schools, community leaders and local, state, and federal governments to improve the health and well-being of children by enabling and encouraging them to walk and bicycle to school. Safe Routes to School programs connect transportation options with public health needs with the quality of our environment with the livability of our communities.

Governor’s Office of Highway Safety

The Mission of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is to educate the public on highway safety and facilitate the implementation of programs that reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities on Georgia roadways.
