October 14-15, join us for our 3rd Annual Fall Camp Out overnight bike ride. We will return to the beautiful shores of the Broad River at the idyllic Camp Kiwanis / Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta. It is a scenic 30-mile ride to the camp*, just a north of Danielsville.
This trip includes:
-Reserved field for campers to set up near the river-Kitchen to make meals-Access to bathrooms and showers-Lunch and Dinner Saturday (Of course, you can bring your own food if you like.)-BYOB, and during registration you can chip in to help stock the campground
Many of us will haul our own gear, but everyone will have the option of dropping gear/food/drinks at the BikeAthens shop (1075 W. Broad St.), and we’ll drive it up for you. Saturday, 9:00 A.M. gear drop at the shop. At 10:00 A.M. we’ll roll out and close the shop. We will post the route on the Facebook event page. Whether you ride with us, or make your way there on your own, everyone needs to register. If you have questions–we’ll answer them at the Facebook page or through email.
Awesome! See y’all on the 14th!
*If you are new to bike camping this will be perfect for you. The ride is only 30ish miles; full disclosure, it is hilly, especially toward the end. If you join us at 10:00 A.M., you’ll have people to ride with, but the ride is not sagged. Minor repairs or flats will need to be fixed on the side of the road. There are not official rest stops, but the route does takes us past a few gas stations/stores.
