BikeAthens seeks new board members who strive to build equity in transportation. Affordable, accessible, transportation is a critical need in Athens and a big part of social and economic mobility.
Candidates need not be avid bicyclists. Board members are primarily responsible for the financial sustainability of the organization so that staff and volunteers can more effectively advocate for a safe and connected city, repair bikes for people who need them, and teach safe cycling to people of all ages.
Individuals from all communities and cultures are encouraged to apply as BikeAthens aspires to assemble a board that reflects the community. In addition, applicants with experience or a background in finance, law, public administration, nonprofit management, fundraising, social work, or community development are needed for the BikeAthens board.
Board meetings are one hour monthly. Members are expected to dedicate five to ten additional hours per month to work on behalf of the organization, but additional opportunities to engage are available.
Please look around bikeathens.org for more information about the organization, and stop by the shop at 1075 West Broad Street to see BikeAthens in action. Interested applicants should email Jason Perry at email@example.com or use the contact form below.
